{"id":49082,"date":"2013-11-07T10:36:03","date_gmt":"2013-11-07T08:36:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=49082"},"modified":"2013-11-07T10:40:06","modified_gmt":"2013-11-07T08:40:06","slug":"google-brings-e-books-to-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/internet\/49082\/google-brings-e-books-to-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"Google brings e-books to South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Google\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/314567-Google\">Google<\/a>\u00a0has revealed that its online bookstore will be available in South Africa from Thursday, 7 November 2013.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Santiago de la Mora\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/572971-Santiago-de-la-Mora\">Santiago de la Mora<\/a>, director for print product partnerships at Google, said that they have worked hard to roll out Google Play Books to many more markets.<\/p>\n<p>He said that at launch South African users will have access to hundreds of thousands of English language books.<\/p>\n<p>Asked whether local publishers would be able to sell their books through Google Play Books, De la Mora said they are working on providing such services to South African publishers.<\/p>\n<p>Books bought from Google\u2019s store can be read on the following platforms:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Android phones and tablets via the Google Play Books app;<\/li>\n<li>PCs through a web browser;
