Controversial\u00a0former Telkom executive, Motlatsi Nzeku, may be set for a return to\u00a0the telecoms industry having been paid\u00a0R13-million by his former employer to go away, the Sunday Times Reported.<\/p>\n

In February 2009 Telkom fired then chief of operations Nzeku, and publicly slated him for poor performance, becoming \u2018extremely divisive\u2019 and \u2018defamation of Telkom and its leadership\u2019.<\/p>\n

However, following private arbitration proceedings, Nzeku was reinstated as the MD of Telkom International. He\u00a0retired\u00a0from this position last year.<\/p>\n

However, \u00a0internal memos leaked to Business Times by two Telkom employees suggested Nzeku was in formal talks with current Telkom CEO, Sipho Maseko, “which insiders say are ominous,” wrote the Sunday Paper.<\/p>\n

Nzeku told Business Times he \u201chad a meeting with Maseko\u201d although it was \u201cnot about coming back to Telkom\u201d.<\/p>\n

Asked if the conversation was informal, he replied: \u201cWe are not friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maseko stated: \u201cI know him socially, and in a loose way at that,” adding that\u00a0Telkom did not offer the former employee a job.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t met him since I joined Telkom seven months ago. And before I joined Telkom, I must have met him at most three or four times.\u201d<\/p>\n
