{"id":494001,"date":"2021-05-27T12:45:51","date_gmt":"2021-05-27T10:45:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=494001"},"modified":"2021-05-27T12:45:51","modified_gmt":"2021-05-27T10:45:51","slug":"eskom-warns-of-high-probability-of-load-shedding-on-thursday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/energy\/494001\/eskom-warns-of-high-probability-of-load-shedding-on-thursday\/","title":{"rendered":"Eskom warns of high probability of load shedding on Thursday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eskom is pleading with the public to reduce the usage of electricity as the power system is under severe pressure, which may lead to a high possibility of load shedding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEskom would like to inform the public that it continues to experience severe supply constraints as the shortage of generation capacity sill persists, caused by breakdowns in generation units and delays in others returning to service,\u201d the power utility said.<\/p>\n<p>While no load shedding is expected, Eskom warned that it could be forced to implement stage one or two between 5pm and 10pm on Thursday evening should any further breakdowns occur.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEskom would like to appeal to the public to help the country get through these constraints by reducing the usage of electricity.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/PowerAlert1?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#PowerAlert1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The power system is still severely constrained, with a high probability of loadshedding.
