{"id":49745,"date":"2013-11-20T11:17:29","date_gmt":"2013-11-20T09:17:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=49745"},"modified":"2013-11-20T11:18:43","modified_gmt":"2013-11-20T09:18:43","slug":"sa-power-outlook-slightly-better-eskom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/49745\/sa-power-outlook-slightly-better-eskom\/","title":{"rendered":"SA power outlook &#8220;slightly better&#8221;: Eskom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>South African power utility Eskom said on Wednesday the power supply outlook had improved slightly after it declared a power &#8220;emergency&#8221; the previous day, although the grid in Africa&#8217;s biggest economy remained vulnerable.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the state-owned utility&#8217;s ageing generating units unexpectedly tripped on Tuesday while others were down for maintenance, forcing the company to admit it may have to introduce rolling blackouts, as happened in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The outlook for the day is slightly better than it was yesterday.
