{"id":50489,"date":"2013-12-04T13:12:06","date_gmt":"2013-12-04T11:12:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=50489"},"modified":"2013-12-04T14:28:48","modified_gmt":"2013-12-04T12:28:48","slug":"south-africa-corruption-on-the-rise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/50489\/south-africa-corruption-on-the-rise\/","title":{"rendered":"South Africa corruption on the rise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2013 edition of the Corruption Perception Index (CPI), shows that\u00a0perceived levels of government corruption in South Africa have increased.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa has slipped down three places from 69th to 72nd out of 177 countries in Transparency International\u2019s index.<\/p>\n<p>The Index gives South Africa\u00a0a score of 42 out of 100, down from 43 in 2012, with zero being highly corrupt.<\/p>\n<p>The country has slipped from a ranking of 38th in 2001, and 43rd in 2007.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2009 &#8211;
