Glassdoor has released its annual listing of best companies to work for – with big social networking companies like Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook cracking the nod as great places for employees.<\/p>\n

Online jobs and career community, Glassdoor lists 50 great cmpanies to work for in 2014, based on anonymous employee nominations and ratings.<\/p>\n

The ranking is determined by taking cumulative average ratings from more than 500,000 employees who took part in a survey run between November 2012 and November 2013.<\/p>\n

The Glassdoor company review survey asked employees to rate their satisfaction with the company overall and key workplace factors, such as career opportunities, compensation and benefits, work\/life balance, senior management, as well as culture and values.<\/p>\n

Topping the list as best company to work for is consulting firm, Bain & Company, which scored a top 4.4 (out of 5) rating with Glassdoor, based off of 438 ratings.<\/p>\n

Looking at companies in the tech space, the newly publicly-listed Twitter tops the chart, ahead of professional social network, LinkedIn and social networking giant, Facebook.<\/p>\n

Twitter is a new entrant onto the list, while Facebook has slipped some way from the top position in 2013 to 5th overall in the 2014 rankings.<\/p>\n

Other major tech companies which made the list include Qualcomm (13th); Riverbed Technoloogy (17th); biotech company, Genentech (25th); Intel (33rd); Apple (35th); NetApp (41st); Ebay (49th); and Salesforce.com (50th).<\/p>\n
