{"id":5138,"date":"2012-02-01T14:47:47","date_gmt":"2012-02-01T14:47:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=5138"},"modified":"2012-02-02T09:50:02","modified_gmt":"2012-02-02T09:50:02","slug":"micromega-takes-controlling-stake-in-mis-consulting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/software\/5138\/micromega-takes-controlling-stake-in-mis-consulting\/","title":{"rendered":"MICROmega takes controlling stake in MIS Consulting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Listed diversified investment company, <a title=\"MICROmega Holdings\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/401007-MICROmega-Holdings-(MMG)\">MICROmega Holdings (MMG)<\/a>, on Wednesday announced that it has acquired a controlling interest in MIS Consulting for an undisclosed fee.<\/p>\n<p>MIS provides customer-to-business and business-to-business enterprise communication service using <a title=\"SMS - Short Message Service\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/289539-SMS-Short-Message-Service\">SMS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Through its technology subsidiary, MICROmega provides solutions including hardware technologies; software-based analytical and management systems that result in optimised technology resources such as data centres; communications networks and business applications.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Greg Morris\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/401011-Greg-Morris\">Greg Morris<\/a>, CEO of MICROmega, said: \u201cThe traditional model of down-stream communication from an enterprise to its customer base, whilst effective, can often be viewed as cumbersome, limited and in some instances downplayed as &#8220;spam&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our service offering is industry- and customer-specific, and by using the largest medium of communication available today (SMSing) we are able to allow businesses to professionally receive, manage and respond to customer requirements. It further tracks and allows for the monitoring of consumer trends and consumer behaviour.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>MIS has, to date, launched its product, namely Coretalk, through distribution partners in South Africa, Columbia and Costa Rica.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our decision to invest in MIS was motivated by the scalability of the product both in its current markets as well as new regions where the business has received demand for its product.
