Listed\u00a0education and staffing group, AdvTech has appointed\u00a0Stafford Masie And Mteto Nyati as independent non-executive directors with effect from 8 January 2014.<\/p>\n
Masie\u00a0has held senior executive positions at Novell USA and\u00a0subsequently at Novell South Africa. He established Google\u00b4s presence in South Africa in 2006 and\u00a0was appointed Sub-Saharan Africa GM in 2007.<\/p>\n
After leaving Google in 2009, he\u00a0established his own business and is now an entrepreneur with a particular interest in early stage start-up businesses in the IT industry.<\/p>\n
In 2013 he unveiled “thumbzup” an international payments\u00a0innovation company partnering in South Africa with Absa.<\/p>\n
He is also active as a business school\u00a0lecturer, participant in several radio broadcasts and speaker on the influence of technology on modern\u00a0day life, society and education.<\/p>\n
Mteto Nyati\u00a0has spent the last 17 years in the IT industry, first with\u00a0IBM, both in South Africa and abroad, becoming Director of IBM Global Technology Services for
\nsouthern and central Africa.<\/p>\n
In 2008, he joined Microsoft South Africa as managing director, a position
\nwhich he still holds. He led Microsoft South Africa to be a locally relevant multi-national through his\u00a0focus on education, skills for employability and enterprise development.<\/p>\n
