{"id":522354,"date":"2021-09-17T12:42:49","date_gmt":"2021-09-17T10:42:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=522354"},"modified":"2021-09-17T12:43:04","modified_gmt":"2021-09-17T10:43:04","slug":"tshwane-to-hire-5000-people-using-an-electronic-lottery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/technology\/522354\/tshwane-to-hire-5000-people-using-an-electronic-lottery\/","title":{"rendered":"Tshwane to hire 5,000 people using electronic lottery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The City of Tshwane will recruit 5,095 expanded public works programme (EPWP) workers starting in November, using an electronic lottery system &#8211; or electronic random draw.<\/p>\n<p>Executive mayor Randall Williams said that the city is introducing the new Democratic Alliance-created system to promote transparency in its hiring process.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The system works independently without any influence by electronically selecting applicants from our EPWP database.
