{"id":52270,"date":"2014-01-28T13:48:19","date_gmt":"2014-01-28T11:48:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=52270"},"modified":"2014-01-29T10:00:55","modified_gmt":"2014-01-29T08:00:55","slug":"reality-tv-star-appointed-mxit-india-ceo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/52270\/reality-tv-star-appointed-mxit-india-ceo\/","title":{"rendered":"Reality TV star appointed Mxit India CEO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>South African mobile social networking platform Mxit,\u00a0has set up offices in India.<\/p>\n<p>The company&#8217;s operations in the country will be headed by Indian business &#8220;Maverick&#8221;, and The Apprentice Asia contestant, Sam Rufus Nallaraj, who will fill the position of Mxit India CEO.<\/p>\n<p>According to the CEO, India has over 900 million cellphones, 550 million of which are feature phones. &#8220;We can connect these two worlds with Mxit,&#8221; Nallaraj said on social social media site, Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>According to Nallaraj&#8217;s personal website, he was formerly the VP at Deloitte &amp; Touch\u00e9 in Hyderabad before taking up the position at Mxit.<\/p>\n<p>Joining the new Mxit India CEO, Mxit chairman and former FNB CEO, Michael Jordaan was in India for the mobile platform&#8217;s launch in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Jordaan joined the Mxit board in September 2013, having watched the company &#8220;with interest&#8221; for several years.
