{"id":522968,"date":"2021-09-21T10:14:27","date_gmt":"2021-09-21T08:14:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=522968"},"modified":"2021-09-21T11:03:56","modified_gmt":"2021-09-21T09:03:56","slug":"multichoice-launches-dstv-internet-in-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/broadband\/522968\/multichoice-launches-dstv-internet-in-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"Multichoice launches DStv Internet in South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Multichoice has launched DStv Internet, a fixed wireless access service that offers internet services using a SIM card and Wi-Fi router.<\/p>\n<p>According to Multichoice, the service is targeting users who do not have fibre in their residential area but want to access the internet regularly using various devices in their home.<\/p>\n<p>DStv customers will also be able to choose from bundled offerings that include data options with their DStv subscription package, allowing them to stream content on any internet-connected device, it said.<\/p>\n<p>Multichoice said that there are three monthly data products to choose from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>25 Gigabyte (GB) Anytime and 25 Gigabyte (GB) Night-time data.<\/li>\n<li>110 Gigabyte (GB) Anytime and 110 Gigabyte (GB) Night-time data.<\/li>\n<li>220 Gigabyte (GB) Anytime and 220 Gigabyte (GB) Night-time data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Dstv-internet-prices.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-523016\" src=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Dstv-internet-prices.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"862\" height=\"417\" srcset=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Dstv-internet-prices.png 862w, https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Dstv-internet-prices-300x145.png 300w, https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Dstv-internet-prices-768x372.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 862px) 100vw, 862px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The product also includes a new service called DStv Trusted Home, described as an &#8220;AI-driven network security and Wi-Fi management solution&#8221; &#8211; developed jointly by Multichoice\u2019s digital platform security subsidiary Irdeto and Minim.<\/p>\n<p>Multichoice said that the app will allow users to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage their data usage through running speed tests and managing data consumption.<\/li>\n<li>Access parental controls to make sure that children are not spending too much time in front of their screens and set limits accordingly.<\/li>\n<li>Review and approve connection requests. In addition to this, the app will also block attacks and malicious websites.
