{"id":53068,"date":"2014-02-13T11:27:34","date_gmt":"2014-02-13T09:27:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=53068"},"modified":"2014-02-13T11:27:34","modified_gmt":"2014-02-13T09:27:34","slug":"seacom-restructures-top-management","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/internet\/53068\/seacom-restructures-top-management\/","title":{"rendered":"Seacom restructures top management"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following the resignation of Seacom CEO Mark Simpson, the group has restructured its senior management roles to power its new growth strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, the network service provider announced changes to the heads of business development, business operations and sales departments, alongside the affirmation of the compay&#8217;s new chief financial officer, and return of its founder, <strong>Brian Herlihy<\/strong>, as executive director.<\/p>\n<p>Herlihy raised the venture capital and founded Seacom in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The changes to the Seacom leadership team will enhance synergies between regions and functions within the business, as well as position Seacom to enter new markets in Africa,&#8221; the company said.<\/p>\n<p>The group announced the following shifts and appointments:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Chris Smyth<\/strong> was appointed as CFO in October 2013, heading up the finance function of Seacom, which comprises amongst others, statutory and monthly reporting and analysis, budgeting, treasury, payments, billings and collections;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous head of product strategy, <strong>Suveer Ramdhani<\/strong> has been appointed as head of the newly established business development group, which will focus on Seacom\u2019s strategic growth into new markets;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Seacom chief commercial officer, <strong>Byron Clatterbuck<\/strong>, will now also head up a consolidated Product and service development and sales and marketing department;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Willem Marais<\/strong> was promoted to global head of sales, with global responsibility for all Seacom sales teams across all segments;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Robert Marston<\/strong> was promoted to global head of product and will taking the lead in designing, developing and managing all Seacom products and services;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Nicola Haynes-Smart<\/strong> was promoted to head of business operations.
