KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has launched a new interactive map that provides the most up-to-date information for passengers planning to fly globally amid the constantly changing restrictions caused by the Covid pandemic.<\/p>\n

“KLM appreciates how difficult it can be to plan a trip during the Covid-19 pandemic. Travel rules and restrictions are changing constantly and vary from country to country, making it more important than ever for travellers to have the most up-to-date information when planning a journey,” the Amsterdam-based group said.<\/p>\n

“That is why, starting today, KLM is offering an interactive ‘Where can I fly to?’ map showing current travel requirements for every country in KLM\u2019s network. The map displays travel requirements based on customers\u2019 country of departure and vaccination status, so they can choose their next destination at a glance.”<\/p>\n

How the map works<\/strong><\/p>\n

To start planning a trip, customers can go to https:\/\/www.klm.nl\/en\/travel-guide\/where-can-i-fly-to<\/a> and fill in the airport or country of departure. They can then move around the interactive map to view the most up-to-date travel requirements for KLM destinations.<\/p>\n

Customers who have been vaccinated can click on the \u201cI am fully vaccinated\u201d button to view travel requirements suited to their status. Once they select a destination, they are directed to our TravelDoc website, where they can view detailed travel requirements for that location.<\/p>\n

At the end of June, KLM resumed daily flights between Johannesburg and Amsterdam and four times per week between Cape Town and Amsterdam.<\/p>\n

The airline also noted that its re-booking policy has been extended until 31 March 2022. “So if you need to change your date of travel or change your destination it is still possible to do it without a fee. A fare difference may apply,” it said.<\/p>\n

While regions like the USA are currently shown to be restricted for travel from South Africa, the country is planning to open its borders to vaccinated travellers in November.<\/p>\n

Skyscanner<\/a>, a metasearch engine and travel agency based in Edinburgh, Scotland, also provides up-to-date info on travel restrictions for every country to help travellers make decisions about current and future trips.<\/p>\n
