Renault has updated the popular Duster SUV with a new design, additional features, and an affordable price tag in its category.<\/p>\n

The Duster now starts at R337,900 in South Africa and brings with it a host of standard equipment that makes it an attractive choice in a growing B-SUV segment. BusinessTech compared several other vehicles in this segment, and within the R360,000 price range.<\/p>\n

The exterior of the Renault Duster underwent minor tweaks for this inter-generational update, with this model set apart from the outgoing one through updated headlights with daytime running lights, LED taillights, a new rear spoiler, a wider rear, and redesigned 17-inch alloy wheels.<\/p>\n

Along with the redesign, a fresh palette of exterior paints is on offer \u2013 comprising Comet Grey, Highland Grey, Iron Blue, Brown Vision, Fusion Red, Arizona Orange, and Ice White.<\/p>\n

In terms of off-road credentials, the Duster boasts a class-leading 210mm of ground clearance, a 30-degree approach angle, and a 34-degree departure angle.<\/p>\n

It can also carry up to 478 litres of cargo in five-seater mode, while \u201chigh-quality\u201d fabric seats are fitted inside to increase durability.<\/p>\n

Model-dependent leather seats can then be fitted as an optional extra for R10,088.<\/p>\n

Standard features for the updated Renault include on-board navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, cruise control, and an 8-inch infotainment display.<\/p>\n

It is fitted with a host of safety systems, too, including ABS, electronic brake-force distribution, and emergency brake assist.<\/p>\n

Engines<\/strong><\/p>\n

The updated Duster is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine in various configurations.<\/p>\n

The 4\u00d72, five-speed manual specification produces 66kW and 210Nm, with combined fuel consumption rated at 5.1l\/100km.<\/p>\n

The 4\u00d72, six-speed, dual-clutch automatic produces 80kW and 250Nm, and the 4\u00d74 manual generates 80kW and 260Nm.<\/p>\n

Combined fuel consumption for the latter variants starts at 4.8l\/100km.<\/p>\n
