{"id":541610,"date":"2021-11-26T08:57:15","date_gmt":"2021-11-26T06:57:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=541610"},"modified":"2021-11-26T09:44:01","modified_gmt":"2021-11-26T07:44:01","slug":"checkers-launches-smaller-stores-aimed-at-neighbourhoods","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/business\/541610\/checkers-launches-smaller-stores-aimed-at-neighbourhoods\/","title":{"rendered":"Checkers launches smaller stores aimed at neighbourhoods"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Shoprite Group has launched new smaller format Checkers Foods stores aimed at neighbourhoods.<\/p>\n<p>The first store opened in the Weltevreden Park Shopping Centre in Roodepoort on Thursday (25 November), with three more neighbourhood stores scheduled to open in early 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Shoprite said that the new store has created 71 new jobs, with the new format stores expected to create further employment opportunities\u00a0 in the coming months<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The new 1,200m<sup>2<\/sup> Checkers Foods store boasts an expanded fresh food offering with solution-based convenience ranges curated to meet specific customer needs, including lunch, braai, dinner or emergency purchases,&#8221;
