{"id":54214,"date":"2014-03-12T07:59:31","date_gmt":"2014-03-12T05:59:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=54214"},"modified":"2014-03-12T07:59:31","modified_gmt":"2014-03-12T05:59:31","slug":"eoh-earnings-surge-38","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/it-services\/54214\/eoh-earnings-surge-38\/","title":{"rendered":"EOH earnings surge 38%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Listed IT services firm\u00a0<a title=\"EOH Holdings\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2245-EOH-Holdings\">EOH Holdings<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday (12 March) reported a 38.4% rise in revenue for the six months ended January 2014, to R3.3 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Profit after tax was up 49.4% to R244 million with growth attributable to a combination of both organic growth and recent\u00a0acquisitions.<\/p>\n<p>During the reporting period, EOH\u00a0made several\u00a0acquisitions including Sybrin, a developer of software for the financial services and other industry sectors,\u00a0totalling R756 million.<\/p>\n<p>Sybrin is headquartered in South Africa and has regional offices in Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania Rwanda and Mozambique and works across 17 African Countries, Europe and the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>Headline earnings per share improved 33.9% to 229.6 cents.<\/p>\n<p>Operating profit before interest and impairments was higher at R353.5 million, from R247.7 million in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>EOH says major growth areas are expected to be in Managed Services\u00a0(including cloud, network solutions and mobility solutions), IT Management, Applications (including\u00a0enterprise applications, information analytics and digitalisation), Industrial Technologies and Business\u00a0Process Outsourcing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This will be achieved through organic growth, spearheaded by our strategic\u00a0account initiatives, and strategic acquisitions,&#8221;
