{"id":558712,"date":"2022-02-15T14:11:10","date_gmt":"2022-02-15T12:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=558712"},"modified":"2022-02-15T14:11:10","modified_gmt":"2022-02-15T12:11:10","slug":"cape-town-to-introduce-new-alcohol-laws","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/lifestyle\/558712\/cape-town-to-introduce-new-alcohol-laws\/","title":{"rendered":"Cape Town to introduce new alcohol laws"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Western Cape provincial government is moving forward on proposed amendments to the Western Cape Liquor Act, says premier Alan Winde.<\/p>\n<p>Presenting his state of the province address on Tuesday (15 February), Winde said that the amendments follow a previous commitment by the province to help clamp down on alcohol abuse.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our provincial cabinet has now granted in-principle approval for the first set of amendments to the Western Cape Liquor Amendment Bill to be drafted.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Drafting instructions are now in an advanced stage, and should be completed imminently.
