Listed empowerment company, Sekunjalo Investments reported a 7% rise in revenue for the interim period ended February 2014, to R242 million.<\/p>\n
Profit before tax climbed to R32.7 million, from R24.2 million before, while headline earnings per share lifted to 3.72 cents, from 3.31 cents in 2013.<\/p>\n
Sekunjalo said that its information communication technology (ICT) division, including British Telecommunication Services SA, performed “satisfactorily”, with subsidiaries performing well against budgets.<\/p>\n
The division achieved an operating profit of R14.7 million (2013:R26.6 million) with the expected completion of the implementation of the hospital information systems (HIS).<\/p>\n
Health System Technologies, a HIS laboratory information system and pharmacy information system integrator and provider, continued to meet its contractual obligations to roll out the centralized HIS and Pharmacy solution to the Provincial Government of the Western Cape hospitals and the National Health Laboratory Services, Sekunjalo said.<\/p>\n
Saratoga Software, a software development company which builds custom software solutions for corporate customers, has grown consistently over the past few years and is performing ahead of expectations, the group said.<\/p>\n
Looking ahead,\u00a0 Sekunjalo said it will continue its focus to grow the ICT and fishing divisions organically as well as by acquisition as the operations continue to produce satisfactory results.<\/p>\n
“The ICT division has built a strong platform for further organic growth and has positioned itself well to increase its investments by acquisition,” the empowerment company said.<\/p>\n
