{"id":565578,"date":"2022-03-07T14:04:33","date_gmt":"2022-03-07T12:04:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=565578"},"modified":"2022-03-07T14:04:33","modified_gmt":"2022-03-07T12:04:33","slug":"proposal-to-lift-covid-testing-requirements-in-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/lifestyle\/565578\/proposal-to-lift-covid-testing-requirements-in-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"Proposal to lift Covid testing requirements in South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) has called on the government to lift Covid testing requirements for inbound tourists who are already fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sabcnews.com\/tbcsa-calls-on-government-to-remove-covid-19-pcr-test-for-vaccinated-travelers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SABC<\/a><\/strong>, the tourism council said the move is necessary to help restart the local tourism industry as the current restrictions are a key deciding factor for people entering the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTravelers who are fully vaccinated should be allowed to enter the country without presenting PCR tests because they are fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For those who are not fully vaccinated, they must produce a PCR test.
