launches 79c per minute call rate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vodacom has launched a promotional prepaid price plan which offers a 79c per minute call rate.<\/p>\n<p>The offer became available on Thursday, 1 May 2014, and for now, is set to run until 14 July 2014, subject to a specific set of terms and conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The deal <strong><a title=\"Vodacom set to cut prepaid call rates\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/100746-vodacom-set-to-cut-prepaid-call-rates.html\">confirms reports<\/a><\/strong> that the network would cut rates in response to a similar promotion launched by MTN, last month.<\/p>\n<p>MTN later made its promotion a <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/101226-mtn-79c-per-minute-prepaid-call-rate-made-permanent.html\">permanent prepaid rate plan<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The core features of the promotion are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Local call rate (any network, any time): R0.79 per minute (billed per second)<\/li>\n<li>SMS: R0.50<\/li>\n<li>SMS to Telkom landlines: R0.90<\/li>\n<li>MMS (300KB or less): R0.80 per MMS<\/li>\n<li>International SMS: R1.74\/SMS all day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The price plan is not available to Contract, Top Up, Community Service, CST Management SIMs.<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom said that prepaid subscribers on legacy price plans such as 4U, All Day per Second, All Day per Minute, Per Second Plus, Day Saver, and Vodago who change to Prepaid 79c will not be able to return to their previous price plans.<\/p>\n<p>It pointed out that roaming calls, premium rated calls, SVS Calls, international calls, VAS calls, and fax out calls do not qualify for the 79c per minute rate.<\/p>\n<p>On this price plan you also can\u2019t make use of Power Hour, Chat for 20, Power Bundles, My5, Night Shift or Everyday Extra, according to the T&amp;C\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom subscribers on Prepaid 79c can continue to earn Talking Points when recharging R10 or more, which Vodacom said can be redeemed for Talking Points for airtime bundles,
