{"id":5693,"date":"2012-02-08T08:45:57","date_gmt":"2012-02-08T08:45:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=5693"},"modified":"2012-02-08T08:50:10","modified_gmt":"2012-02-08T08:50:10","slug":"nec-appoints-new-president-of-nec-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/hardware\/5693\/nec-appoints-new-president-of-nec-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"NEC appoints new president of sub-Saharan business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NEC Corporation has announced the appointment of Masahiro Yoshikawa as president of NEC Africa, which is a 100% subsidiary of NEC Europe, the regional headquarters in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).<\/p>\n<p>Yoshikawa will lead NEC\u2019s sub-Saharan African business from its new sub-regional headquarters in Johannesburg.<\/p>\n<p>NEC Africa will also establish its branch offices in Nairobi, Kenya and in Lagos, Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Across the sub-Saharan market, NEC provides its customers in the telecoms, public and enterprise sectors with public safety solutions including identification systems, network solutions, social infrastructure solutions and cloud computing solutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNEC has been contributing to the African governments by provision of security systems using fingerprints\/face recognition technologies, mobile network infrastructure solutions and broadcasting systems\u201d, said Yoshikawa. \u201cAt the same time, Africa is poised to reap the benefits and rewards of these exciting technologies.
