{"id":57147,"date":"2014-05-09T10:37:37","date_gmt":"2014-05-09T08:37:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=57147"},"modified":"2014-05-09T10:37:37","modified_gmt":"2014-05-09T08:37:37","slug":"sanrals-lies-and-unlawful-intimidation-jpsa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/57147\/sanrals-lies-and-unlawful-intimidation-jpsa\/","title":{"rendered":"Sanral&#8217;s lies and unlawful intimidation: JPSA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Justice Project South Africa (JPSA) says that Sanral&#8217;s denial that it has commenced issuing Final Demands and summonses shows that \u201cthe head doesn\u2019t appear to know what the tail is doing\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>On 6 May 2014, the JPSA issued a press statement saying that the Sanral Violations Processing Centre (VPC) had started sending out emails stating that \u201cA Final Demand has been issued in regard to your e-toll Violations Processing Centre (VPC) Account\u201d and \u201cA summons has been issued\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Sanral denies\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/government\/101800-no-e-toll-final-demands-summonses-issued-sanral.html\"><strong>Sanral denied sending out<\/strong><\/a> any final letters of demand or court summonses to motorists, saying that particular route remains a last resort for the roads agency.<\/p>\n<p>The JPSA has now hit back, saying that this denial by Sanral spokesperson Vusi Mona is worrisome, \u201cbecause if this is true, then it simply means that the Sanral VPC is lying to people in its emails\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis constitutes both, unconscionable (unreasonably excessive) conduct and intimidation on the part of the VPC since they have made threats and statements of fact in their emails to the effect that &#8216;a letter of demand has been issued&#8217;
