{"id":574194,"date":"2022-04-05T07:09:26","date_gmt":"2022-04-05T05:09:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=574194"},"modified":"2022-04-05T07:09:26","modified_gmt":"2022-04-05T05:09:26","slug":"elon-musk-poll-may-prompt-twitter-edit-button","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/internet\/574194\/elon-musk-poll-may-prompt-twitter-edit-button\/","title":{"rendered":"Elon Musk poll may prompt Twitter edit button"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Twitter Inc chief executive officer Parag Agrawal has responded to a poll posted by Tesla Inc chief Elon Musk, his company\u2019s biggest shareholder, by calling it important and urging users to \u201cvote carefully.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk revealed this week that he\u2019s acquired a 9.2% passive stake in Twitter, however his recent postings on the service &#8211; where he has more than 80 million followers and has filled the void left by Donald Trump as one of the most influential accounts &#8211; have actively discussed perceived shortcomings.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Musk queried if his followers wanted an edit button, offering misspelled \u201cyes\u201d and \u201cno\u201d options in his usual humorously casual style.<\/p>\n<p>Agrawal, who succeeded Jack Dorsey as CEO in November, quote-tweeted the poll and recited words that Musk had used on an earlier post about Twitter\u2019s adherence to free speech principles: \u201cthe consequences of this poll will be important.\u201d The Twitter CEO may have been lightly mocking Musk\u2019s query, though the action still shows he\u2019s keeping a close eye on the account of the Tesla and SpaceX chief.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The consequences of this poll will be important.
