What we are looking for is a reliable network operator who will be able to address the community’s need,” said Hawthorne.

“One of the proposals indicated that residents would be offered 100mbps line speed for about R700 per month,” said Hawthorne, “with data being offered as low as R2 per GB from several data providers”.

The call for proposals ends on May 30, after which PRABOA will select its preferred provider.

More on FTTH

Neotel outlines fibre-to-the-home strategy

Telkom on track with fibre-to-the-home

Vodacom readying fibre-to-the-home

SA’s fibre-to-the-home challeges

Residents of Parkhurst have put out a request for proposal for Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) vendors to install a fibre network in their neighbourhood.

[1
2137,26,7975
post-58069","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-trending","tag-ftth","tag-headline","tag-praboa
["GET
