Altech Netstar has won a multi-million Rand contract from the South African Breweries (SAB) to provide an integrated service solution to its large fleet of Secondary Distribution trucks and trailers.<\/p>\n
It follows an extensive tender and evaluation process and includes a sophisticated shipment tracking system, a gate scanning solution, and integration into\u00a0 SAB\u2019s ERP platform, Altech said.<\/p>\n
The exact value of the contract was not disclosed, but it includes “thousands of devices over a five year period”, Altech Netstar – which is owned by the JSE listed Altron Group – said.<\/p>\n
Altron pointed out in its recent set of results that Altech Netstar remains the largest profit contributor for the group with R294 million and a 9% improvement on the prior year.<\/p>\n
Altron noted that Netstar’s total subscriber base has grown to 580,503.<\/p>\n
SAB’s Donavan Hendricks said: \u201cOur ability to track and manage all secondary distribution fleet real-time, allows SAB to make immediate, informed decisions which can influence both the customer experience and our ability to maximise efficiency.\u201d<\/p>\n
