{"id":586678,"date":"2022-05-17T07:27:44","date_gmt":"2022-05-17T05:27:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=586678"},"modified":"2022-05-17T07:27:44","modified_gmt":"2022-05-17T05:27:44","slug":"companies-plan-big-budget-increases-for-digital-marketing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/industry-news\/586678\/companies-plan-big-budget-increases-for-digital-marketing\/","title":{"rendered":"Companies plan big budget increases for digital marketing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nielsen&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/annualmarketingreport.nielsen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Global Marketing Report 2022<\/strong><\/a> shows that companies plan to increase the amount of money they spend on digital marketing.<\/p>\n<p>The report showed that social media, online display, online video, and search were the channels forecast to receive the biggest marketing budget increases over the coming year.<\/p>\n<p>Conversely: radio, cinema, print, and TV were the channels set to receive the smallest marketing budget increases.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Unlike the finite amount of time in a single day, device and platform choices are seemingly infinite,&#8221; said Jamie Moldafsky, Nielsen Chief Marketing Officer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As consumers toggle between devices and platforms, it\u2019s clear that their attention can be divided. But there\u2019s always a time and place where they focus &#8211; and that\u2019s where marketers must be, armed with the right message.&#8221;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Digital advertising<\/h3>\n<p>Nielsen&#8217;s report stated that marketing budgets at companies are set to increase across the board, following a pullback in spend during the height of the Covid pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In select digital channels, the planned increase will be as high as 53%,&#8221;
