{"id":593696,"date":"2022-06-06T13:44:47","date_gmt":"2022-06-06T11:44:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=593696"},"modified":"2022-06-06T13:44:47","modified_gmt":"2022-06-06T11:44:47","slug":"digital-marketing-a-clear-winner-for-south-african-companies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/industry-news\/593696\/digital-marketing-a-clear-winner-for-south-african-companies\/","title":{"rendered":"Digital Marketing a clear winner for South African companies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Digital marketing is by far the most popular and effective way for South African companies to advertise.<\/p>\n<p>This is according to the 2022 Marketing Budget and ROI Report, produced by Broad Media.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/broadmedia.co.za\/reports\/2022-Marketing-Budget-and-ROI-Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Download the 2022 Marketing Budget and ROI Report<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The report is based on a survey\u00a0conducted in May 2022.<\/p>\n<p>1,056 respondents took part in the survey, the majority of whom work in their company\u2019s marketing department, or are involved in the marketing activities of their company.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Spend and ROI<\/h3>\n<p>The report found that digital marketing was by far the most popular choice for local companies.<\/p>\n<p>When asked which channels their companies allocate the most marketing budget towards, digital took first place by a large margin.<\/p>\n<p>Print was in second place, followed by outdoor in third.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Digital &#8211; <strong>84%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Print &#8211; <strong>35%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Outdoor &#8211; <strong>26%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Radio &#8211; <strong>15%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Television &#8211; <strong>13%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Cinema &#8211; <strong>1%<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Respondents were then asked which marketing channels provide the best return on investment (ROI) for their marketing spend.<\/p>\n<p>Digital once again took first place by a massive margin.<\/p>\n<p>Print was in second place, with television in third.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Digital &#8211; <strong>82%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Print &#8211; <strong>18%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Television &#8211; <strong>16%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Outdoor &#8211; <strong>14%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Radio &#8211; <strong>14%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Cinema &#8211; <strong>1%<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Download the full report<\/h3>\n<p>The 2022 Marketing Budget and ROI Report is available to download for free from Broad Media.<\/p>\n<p>The report covers a range of interesting topics which are relevant to South African businesses.
