{"id":601564,"date":"2022-06-30T07:23:21","date_gmt":"2022-06-30T05:23:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=601564"},"modified":"2022-06-30T07:23:21","modified_gmt":"2022-06-30T05:23:21","slug":"cape-town-is-making-these-traffic-fine-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/motoring\/601564\/cape-town-is-making-these-traffic-fine-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"Cape Town is making these traffic fine changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The City of Cape Town has announced payment and provider changes for traffic fines within its jurisdiction from Friday (1 July).<\/p>\n<p>This comes as the city&#8217;s contracts with current third-party service providers of payment channels for traffic fines and by-law contravention notices will end on 30 June 2022, it said.<\/p>\n<p>As from 1 July 2022, the following payment channels <strong>will no longer be available<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>www.easypay.co.za<\/li>\n<li>www.clicks.co.za<\/li>\n<li>www.paycity.co.za<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;During the phase-in process, traffic fine notices may still reflect these payment options. Customers should, however, make use of the new options that are becoming available instead. As of 1 July 2022, the City is expanding the payment options available to customers,&#8221; the city said.<\/p>\n<p>The following new payment channels <strong>will be available<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Online<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>www.paythat.co.za (including for warrant payments);<\/li>\n<li>Masterpass: Clients of the following banks may pay their fines online via Masterpass by using the banking apps: FNB, Absa, Nedbank and Capitec;<\/li>\n<li>Snapscan;<\/li>\n<li>Zapper;<\/li>\n<li>For Snapscan and Zapper, the QR code will be included on the fines, both paper and electronic;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Retail outlets<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shoprite;<\/li>\n<li>Checkers;<\/li>\n<li>Selected Spar outlets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;These new payment channels on different platforms will significantly expand the city\u2019s footprint for the payments of fines.
