EMC, a global IT and business solutions provider, predicts that the local storage and security market will show strong growth in 2012. Cloud Computing, EMC feels, will explode this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are already seeing signs that 2012 will have considerable growth in the storage market. Security will remain a high priority area,\u201d EMC said in an interview with MyBroadband BusinessTech.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe interesting area is Cloud Computing and we feel it will explode in 2012. We have already seen movement in creating private cloud solutions in large enterprises and even within government. Many service providers are looking to get return on their investment in public cloud infrastructure,\u201d said EMC.<\/p>\n
This is welcome growth after a relatively flat 2011. \u201c2011 saw consolidation and reduced growth compared to 2010. This was mainly due to the \u2018hangover effect\u2019 from a high spending, euphoric World Cup year, where companies were improving their IT infrastructure,\u201d says EMC.<\/p>\n
EMC expects their cloud and security solutions to have a record breaking year. \u201cOur cloud and security solutions are poised for a record breaking year in 2012. Many of our customers realize that EMC provides the breadth of solutions to make their cloud ambitions a reality,\u201d says EMC.<\/p>\n
The company added that there is plenty of interest in their converged infrastructure offering while their high end storage solutions will maintain their strong market position.<\/p>\n
According to EMC the biggest trend this year will be the corporate adoption of social media as a route to market.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs organizations realize the importance of social media, in that it highlights the thoughts and sentiments of the consumer, more and more of them will use this form of media to showcase their products and solutions,\u201d the company says.<\/p>\n
