Internet Solutions (IS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dimension Data, has acquired business continuity management company ContinuitySA for an undisclosed sum.<\/p>\n
IS is a communications services provider of IP-based connectivity, communication, data centre, cloud and carrier services.<\/p>\n
CSA operates the largest recovery facilities in Southern Africa, with over 25,000m\u00b2 of facilities including 3,000m\u00b2 of data centre space available in Gauteng, Cape Town, Botswana, Mozambique and Mauritius.<\/p>\n
IS has over 12,500m\u00b2 of data centre space across the continent with sites in South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya.<\/p>\n
Commenting on the acquisition, IS chief solutions officer, Sean Nourse said: \u201cThere are a number of areas where the combined offerings of both companies will provide clients with a single end to end provider of services with enhanced delivery capability.<\/p>\n
“For example, CSA\u2019s work area recovery services provide highly secure facilities and this combined with IS\u2019s capability to deliver immediate communications services through its VoIP solutions, means businesses will be able remain online and employees productive during any disruptive situation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Under the terms of the acquisition, CSA will retain brand and operational autonomy and also maintain its vendor neutral stance.\u00a0 Michael Davies, CEO, CSA will continue to lead the company.<\/p>\n
In February, IS bought a \u201csignificant stake\u201d\u00a0in local streaming media service provider, Antfarm,\u00a0for an undisclosed sum.<\/p>\n
