{"id":608510,"date":"2022-07-19T15:09:48","date_gmt":"2022-07-19T13:09:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=608510"},"modified":"2022-07-19T15:09:48","modified_gmt":"2022-07-19T13:09:48","slug":"bmw-is-on-a-big-hiring-drive-in-south-africa-and-its-looking-for-these-skills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/technology\/608510\/bmw-is-on-a-big-hiring-drive-in-south-africa-and-its-looking-for-these-skills\/","title":{"rendered":"BMW is on a big hiring drive in South Africa &#8211; and it&#8217;s looking for these skills"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>German car manufacturer BMW is on a hiring drive for skilled technical people in South Africa to join its IT division.<\/p>\n<p>The BMW IT Hub is the fastest growing business unit in the BMW Group and aims to provide 2,000 jobs by 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Based in South Africa, the hub provides IT solutions for a variety of business areas in the BMW Group, focusing on innovation topics and comprehensive IT solutions such as development and operations for SAP, Java, and Azure.<\/p>\n<p>BMW said it would host talent days in the country on 27-28 August 2022 with a specific focus on full stack developers and DevOps specialists on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The BMW IT Hub is looking for suitably qualified consultants on an assignment basis to support the hub through BMW Group South Africa\u2019s approved Temporary Employment Service Providers (TES).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Successful consultants will develop global solutions for the BMW Group in artificial intelligence, robotics, autonomous driving and other ground-breaking digitalisation fields.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Specific technical skills that the group is looking for include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Backend Development;<\/li>\n<li>Frontend Development;<\/li>\n<li>Architecture and\/or DevOps;<\/li>\n<li>Data Streaming;<\/li>\n<li>Microservices;<\/li>\n<li>SmartOperations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Shortlisted candidates will be notified by 10 August 2022.
