{"id":61713,"date":"2014-07-01T14:03:58","date_gmt":"2014-07-01T12:03:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=61713"},"modified":"2014-07-01T14:03:58","modified_gmt":"2014-07-01T12:03:58","slug":"microsoft-sa-shuffles-executives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/61713\/microsoft-sa-shuffles-executives\/","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft SA shuffles executives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft South Africa announced in a press release on Tuesday, 1 July 2014, that its managing director of six years, Mteto Nyati, will be moving to \u201ca more strategic role\u201d as Microsoft\u2019s General Manager: MEA Emerging Regions.<\/p>\n<p>This strategic change in leadership has been in the works for the past year, Microsoft said.<\/p>\n<p>Zoaib Hoosen is taking over the role of managing director of Microsoft South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Before joining Microsoft, Hoosen spent nearly 21 years at IBM, where he started as an IT graduate in 1989 and rose through the ranks to hold several leadership positions. In his final assignment at IBM, he headed up the company\u2019s Middle East and Africa Public Sector Business.<\/p>\n<p>Hoosen joined Microsoft SA in 2010 as the Enterprise and Partner Group Director, before being promoted by Nyati to the role of COO in 2013. Hoosen currently holds BSc and MBA degrees from the University of Durban-Westville and Open University in the UK respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Nyati will be working with the leadership teams across MEA to develop and implement growth strategies for the emerging markets within the Middle East and Africa region, Microsoft said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince his appointment to the post a year ago, Zoaib has been managing a large portion of the Microsoft SA business.
