{"id":62079,"date":"2014-07-05T13:24:03","date_gmt":"2014-07-05T11:24:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=62079"},"modified":"2014-07-05T13:24:03","modified_gmt":"2014-07-05T11:24:03","slug":"fnb-in-double-transaction-blunder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/banking\/62079\/fnb-in-double-transaction-blunder\/","title":{"rendered":"FNB in double transaction blunder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FNB says it is working on reversing duplicate debit orders which were erroneously processed on Saturday morning (5 July 2014).<\/p>\n<p>A number of FNB clients took to Twitter and the MyBroadband forums on to complain about transactions paid out of accounts being doubled, effectively charging clients twice\u00a0 &#8211; and in some cases, adding funds to accounts twice.<\/p>\n<p>FNB Twitter personality, Rbjacobs, said that the bank was aware of the issue and was working to reverse the transactions and assist clients affected.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Apologies for duplicate transactions that have occurred. <strong>Please email care@fnb.co.za<\/strong> and we will assist in having this resolved,&#8221; the account said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_105471\" style=\"width: 604px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FNB-double-debit.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-105471\" class=\"size-full wp-image-105471\" src=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/FNB-double-debit.png\" alt=\"FNB double debit\" width=\"594\" height=\"346\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-105471\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">FNB double debit blunder<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Some MyBroadband users reported being debited double amounts totalling thousands of rands.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All double debits and credits did not activate the InContact alerts.
