{"id":62375,"date":"2014-07-09T14:53:18","date_gmt":"2014-07-09T12:53:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=62375"},"modified":"2014-07-09T14:53:18","modified_gmt":"2014-07-09T12:53:18","slug":"thousands-of-sa-taxi-commuters-using-free-wi-fi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/62375\/thousands-of-sa-taxi-commuters-using-free-wi-fi\/","title":{"rendered":"Thousands of SA taxi commuters using free Wi-Fi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Approximately 4,500 daily commuters are using the free Wi-Fi service offered in 60 mini-bus taxis in Gauteng.<\/p>\n<p>This is according to <span class=\"st\">Wi-Taxi South Africa CEO Brian Mdluli, who was speaking to Talk Radio 702 on Wednesday (8 July). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"st\"><span class=\"st\">Wi-Taxi<\/span> is the technology partner for the South African National Taxi Council (Santaco), who launched the service on 12 June.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"st\">Mdluli <\/span>said that there are currently more than 60 vehicles on the road with Wi-Fi capability in Joburg.
