Germany’s luxury car brands, including Mercedes, BMW and Audi, have all established themselves as status symbols in South African car culture.<\/p>\n

Luxury sedans are incredibly popular among middle\/upper-class South Africans who want a sporty everyday driver with the ability to pick up the kids from school while also looking good doing it.<\/p>\n

New vehicle sales data from vehicle financing company Wesbank<\/a> shows that the average value of new cars financed in August was R377,252<\/b>. Sedans made by Germany’s top automaker brands start at well over double that price.
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Credit reporting agency TransUnion<\/a>‘s Q2 2022 South Africa Industry Insights Report showed that the average new loan amount for a vehicle increased by 10% year-on-year to R362,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The average balance per account is R218,000.<\/p>\n
