South African retailer Food Lover\u2019s Market has opened its new R100 million flagship store in Bothasig, Cape Town,<\/p>\n
Construction on the 3,000 square metre store started in January 2022 and forms part of the group’s\u00a0R400 million expansion drive.<\/p>\n
The new stand-alone site is focused on energy efficiencies, the group said, and includes features such as remote cabinet monitoring capability, ice storage systems for air- conditioning and solar panels that will generate 360 kWp DC of renewable electricity annually.<\/p>\n
The gourmet butchery boasts a team of 25 dedicated to delivering a premium meat counter. Other departments within this 3000sqm space include fresh produce, an on-site bakery, a wine section, a fresh seafood department, and cheese and deli counters.<\/p>\n
The Grab&Go includes a Sushi counter and a Biltong Bar, and a Seattle Coffee Co will also be available at the entrance to the store.<\/p>\n
Among some of the more unique features, the store has also placed animatronics around the store in a bid to create a “theatre” experience for shoppers.<\/p>\n
