{"id":63913,"date":"2014-07-25T12:57:38","date_gmt":"2014-07-25T10:57:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=63913"},"modified":"2014-07-25T12:57:38","modified_gmt":"2014-07-25T10:57:38","slug":"telecoms-department-defends-zuma-daughter-post","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/63913\/telecoms-department-defends-zuma-daughter-post\/","title":{"rendered":"Telecoms department defends Zuma daughter post"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Jacob Zuma&#8217;s daughter Thuthukile was appointed chief of staff at the department of telecommunications and postal services after consideration of her &#8220;capacity&#8221; for the position, the department said on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Thuthukile Zuma&#8217;s appointment&#8230; is consistent with the rules and regulations governing the appointment of people in government ministries,&#8221; spokesman Siya Qoza said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The minister only considered her capacity to do the job and her qualifications.
