Value\u00a0fashion\u00a0retailer, Mr Price, has launched a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), on the back of its successful push online over the past 18 months.<\/p>\n

Like Virgin Mobile, the network will run on Cell C, and according to the report, technology from mobile virtual network enabler business MVN-X (a subsidiary of Ignition) is the main driver behind MrP Mobile.<\/p>\n

MVN-X is headed up by the former Virgin Mobile chief, Steve Bailey.<\/p>\n

According to MrP Mobile, it currently sells four different devices on contract: three phones and one tablet.<\/p>\n

The phone deals each come with R100 airtime per month, while the tablet comes with 300MB data.<\/p>\n

In May, the group said that online sales grew as much as 293.4% for the year ended March 2014.<\/p>\n

The group took its homeware division,\u00a0Mr Price\u00a0Home<\/a>\u00a0online in November, along with and Sheet Street, while Mr\u00a0Price Apparel launched its online sales platform in South Africa in July 2012 and internationally in July 2013.<\/p>\n

CEO Stuart Bird said that the local online offers for Mr Price Sport and Financial Services is planned for the new financial year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe online sales platforms are gaining momentum. During the year, the Apparel division opened its site globally and has shipped to over 130 countries,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
