Africa&#8217;s favourite brands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ask Africa ICON brands survey has listed All Gold tomato sauce as the most-loved brand in the country, with Nokia and MTN as the two most popular tech products for South Africans.<\/p>\n<p>The Ask Africa brand winners are <strong>based on 15,169 interviews<\/strong> conducted by the Target Group Index, looking at thousands of brands <strong>across 163 product categories<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The resultant data was weighted using the Statistics South Africa\u2019s population estimates.<\/p>\n<p>ICON scores were calculated based on different metrics for different product categories as loyalty metrics differ for different markets, the group said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For example, repertoire and subscription markets are fundamentally different when we talk about consumer loyalty,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n<p>The group identifies three groups of &#8216;winners&#8217; &#8211; ICON brands, which are &#8220;true Rainbow Nation brands&#8221; which have achieved love and loyalty amongst South Africans, as well as platinum brands and category winners.<\/p>\n<p>Platinum brands are products which have a total ICON score above the required threshold, but not across the entire population.<\/p>\n<p>Nokia And MTN were the only ICON brands listed by Ask Africa, with Vodacom and Samsung listed as emerging ICON platinum class=\"my-4\">South Africa&#8217;s top brands<\/h3>\n<p>The Ask Africa group identified the top brands in South Africa, with the food and drinks categories having dominated the leader board over the last five years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The consistency over the last five years in Ask Afrika ICON Brand winners is astonishing and the trend shows that, as South Africans, we are unified by our palates despite our social disparities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>All Gold tomato sauce was ranked as the country&#8217;s most favoured brand, followed by Koo Baked Beans, Hulett&#8217;s Sugar and Albany
