The second phase of the project will be determined by customer requirements, MTN said.

Each pole site has a coverage radius of 400–600 meters, and the number of poles that will be installed will depend on customer density in the targeted areas.

“The smaller coverage footprint of these sites means that the resources are shared by fewer users which gives an improved level of service and throughput,” Albertyn said.

This article was first published on MyBroadband.

More on MTN

MTN board approves $1 billion for India expansion: report

FNB a competitor: MTN

MTN reveals launch window for video content

MTN SA recovery includes retrenchments

MTN has started deploying antennas on street light poles, through an infrastructure deal with City Power.

[34
26,28,8648
post-66254","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-mobile","tag-headline","tag-mtn","tag-street-poles
["GET
