BMW South Africa has signed a partnership with Schneider Electric to provide efficient charging facilities ahead of the local BMW i3 launch.<\/p>\n

The partnership will see the availability of\u00a0 the BMW Wallbox charging station while the agreement includes checking the electrical installation in customers\u2019 homes, supplying and assembling the wallbox charging point, as well as maintenance and other services for BMW i vehicles.<\/p>\n

The BMW i3 will be the first electric vehicle on the market to be purpose-designed as such from the outset, and is expected to launch in South Africa early in 2015. It has a driving range of approximately 300 kilometres before recharge is necessary.<\/p>\n

The installation package will be provided by Schneider Electric but managed by BMW and can be customised to meet customers\u2018 specific requirements.<\/p>\n
