announces load shedding schedule for the week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Stage 4 load shedding will be implemented from 16:00 today (5 March).<\/p>\n<p>Stage 4 will continue until Tuesday morning at 05:00.<\/p>\n<p>After that, load shedding will be reduced to stage 3 until 16:00, with stage 4 then being implemented until 05:00 am on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The rotation between stage 3 and stage 4 will continue until further notice.<\/p>\n<p>Eskom said that a generating unit each at Camden, Duvha and Majuba and two other units at Kriel broke down and were taken offline for repairs in the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the return to service of a generating unit each at Hendrina, Medupi and Tutuka was delayed.<\/p>\n<p>Eskom added that repairs to damaged towers at Cahora Bassa are taking longer than anticipated.<\/p>\n<p>In positive news, a generating unit each at Duvha and Kriel power stations were returned to service.<\/p>\n<p>Breakdowns totalled 17,340MW of generating capacity, while 5,654 MW of generating capacity was out for planned maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>The load shedding schedule is below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday, 5 March<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stage 2: 05h00 March\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stage 4: 00h00 to 05h00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>President Cyril Ramaphosa will announce the new minister of electricity tomorrow (6 March 2023) during his cabinet reshuffle.<\/p>\n<p>During the State of the Nation Address, Ramaphosa said that he would introduce a minister of electricity to specifically deal with the nation&#8217;s energy crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, the president\u2019s advisor on infrastructure, is rumoured to be the favoured candidate for the
