Telkom will be targeting a number of suburbs in Gauteng, the Western Cape and Durban in its first wave of 100Mbps fibre to the home (FTTH) rollouts.<\/p>\n

MyBroadband received information that FTTH rollout projects in some of these areas have already started, and that all these projects are set to be completed by the end of the year (31 December 2014).<\/p>\n

Telkom said on 13 June 2014 that it plans to roll out FTTH connectivity to over twenty South African suburbs before the end of 2014.<\/p>\n

“We hear customer’s demands for high quality and high speed Internet connectivity. Telkom is on a determined path to deliver on these demands,” said Telkom’s Group CEO Sipho Maseko.<\/p>\n

“With speeds of 100Mbps on the fibre network and peak speeds of 100Mbps on the home LTE network, the concept of the Connected Home becomes a lot more tangible,” said Maseko.<\/p>\n

Telkom will be targeting the following areas in its FTTH rollouts in 2014.<\/p>\n
