Wallet One South Africa has announced the launch of its third party payment service, enabling the purchase of prepaid services including airtime and prepaid electricity.<\/p>\n
The W1 wallet enables users to pay bills, send money to friends and shop online without requiring a bank account or any paperwork.<\/p>\n
All that is required to open a Wallet One virtual wallet is a valid RSA I.D. number and a mobile phone, the group said.<\/p>\n
Wallet One also pointed to a discount rewards scheme when paying for goods or services.<\/p>\n
Paying via the W1 wallet users receive discounts of 1- 10%, and more depending on the service provider, which includes Vodacom, MTN, Telkom Mobile, and Virgin Mobile.<\/p>\n
“Thanks to the referral reward program a Wallet One wallet subscriber receives R15 for each new user account referred and activated,” it said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur next step will be the launch of W1 Checkout \u2013 an aggregator of electronic payments for online merchants and service providers,” said Alan Bird, CEO at Wallet One South Africa.<\/p>\n
