The all-new Nissan X-Trail officially went on sale in South Africa on Thursday (13 April), offering prospective buyers three trim lines starting at R649,900.<\/p>\n

Buyers will have the option of the Visia, Acenta, and Acenta Plus variants, each powered by the same engine.<\/p>\n

With its generous seven-seat configuration and versatile luggage space, it caters for the practicalities of day-to-day life in South Africa, said the managing director of Nissan SA, Kabelo Rabotho.<\/p>\n

“The fourth generation X-Trail draws from a well-established DNA that runs through all three of the previous generations and is the perfect companion for all adventures, complemented with an exciting driving experience on all terrains,” added chief marketing manager Stefan Haasbroek.<\/p>\n

Features<\/strong><\/p>\n

The entry-level Visia CVT features cloth seats, LED headlamps with high-beam assist, an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a urethane multifunction steering wheel, keyless entry and start, manual airconditioning, paddle shifters, and 17-inch wheels.<\/p>\n

Driver assistance systems include intelligent cruise control, hill-start and descent assist, a reverse camera with rear parking sensors, front collision warnings with emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and driver attention alert.<\/p>\n

The mid-range Acenta derivative further receives a leather steering wheel and synthetic leather seats, heated and electric front seats, a sliding rear bench, dual-zone climate control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, front LED fog lights, and 18-inch alloys.<\/p>\n

The range-topper Acenta Plus further adds seven leather-clad seats, automatic wipers and lights, a 12.3-inch central display with onboard navigation, a fully-digital driver\u2019s display, an around-view monitor with moving object detection, a heads-up display, and 19-inch rims.<\/p>\n

Performance<\/strong><\/p>\n

all new X-Trails are fitted with a 2.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine pushing out 135kW and 244Nm, combined with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) which functions like a normal automatic but does not have any physical gears.<\/p>\n

The SUV clocks 0-100km\/h in 10.4 seconds, a top speed of 195km\/h, and a combined fuel consumption of 7.4l\/100km in the Visia and Acenta and 7.8l\/100km in the heavier Acenta Plus.<\/p>\n
