{"id":683041,"date":"2023-04-25T15:49:59","date_gmt":"2023-04-25T13:49:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=683041"},"modified":"2023-04-25T15:51:02","modified_gmt":"2023-04-25T13:51:02","slug":"these-are-all-the-checkers-stores-that-will-stock-prime-drinks-at-launch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/lifestyle\/683041\/these-are-all-the-checkers-stores-that-will-stock-prime-drinks-at-launch\/","title":{"rendered":"These are all the Checkers stores that will stock PRIME drinks at launch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Retail group Checkers is now the official partner of PRIME hydration in South Africa and will launch the popular energy drinks at select stores on Monday, 1 May 2023,<\/p>\n<p>The drinks have become a viral sensation in South Africa, with many young consumers chasing and buying up stock that has been imported by retailers in the country.<\/p>\n<p>PRIME is a range of sports drinks, drink mixes, and energy drinks created and marketed by Prime Hydration and promoted by YouTubers Logan Paul and KSI.<\/p>\n<p>The drinks have become something of a status symbol among the youth, and shoppers have been spending upwards of R400 to get their hands on one.<\/p>\n<p>From 1 May, PRIME will be sold at selected Checkers and Checkers Hyper stores and on Sixty60 in the Western Cape, Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal for just R40. The group said it will roll out sales to the rest of South Africa during the month.<\/p>\n<p>Checkers said it is launching with four PRIME Hydration flavours: Ice Pop, Blue Raspberry, Lemon Lime and Tropical Punch.<\/p>\n<p>Purchases will be limited to eight per customer, two per flavour.<\/p>\n<p>According to Checkers allocations have been widely dispersed across the three provinces and even beyond, with 237 stores stocking the drink from Monday.<\/p>\n<p>This includes 54 in the Western Cape, 43 in KwaZulu Natal, and 140 in Gauteng and surrounding areas.
