{"id":6863,"date":"2012-02-28T22:16:29","date_gmt":"2012-02-28T22:16:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=6863"},"modified":"2012-11-14T16:45:46","modified_gmt":"2012-11-14T14:45:46","slug":"cell-c-to-shift-data-focus-to-business-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/6863\/cell-c-to-shift-data-focus-to-business-market\/","title":{"rendered":"Cell C to shift data focus to business market"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/213919-Cell-C\" target=\"_blank\">Cell C<\/a> has said that the consumer mobile broadband segment in South Africa is saturated, and that it will now focus on the government, SME and corporate sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Cell C said that the \u201cmobile data player\u201d market is saturated, and that the company&#8217;s focus in 2012 will be on the business and government markets.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Ansley, the executive head of business partners at Cell C, said in an interview with Pyramid&#8217;s Badii Kechiche, that their recent focus was on data &#8211; and that they made a &#8220;really big jump in garnering a few hundred thousand customers on the back of their 3G network rollout&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first push, which really changed the game in mobile data in South Africa, is the prepaid data stick which we launched in 2010. The price per [megabyte] was significantly lower than any of our competitors<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClearly, as we go on into 2012, the game changes.
