Standard Bank<\/a> has launched its new website, boasting “improved navigation which now contains links to products and services”.<\/p>\n

The bank sent out an SMS to its clients on Wednesday (17 September), encouraging them to navigate the new site, which it said “has a Home page <\/b>whereas the old website used the Personal Banking landing page<\/b> as the home page”.<\/p>\n

The bank pointed out that there have been no<\/b> changes on online banking. “Everything in your online banking account\/s has remained unchanged,” it said.<\/p>\n

The new site also features “responsive design” to auto-detect the type of device you are using “laptop, desktop computer, tablet or smart-phone” and re-aligns itself to fit that device.<\/p>\n

The bank scheduled IT maintenance on Sunday (14 September), leaving its online and mobile banking facilities offline, while also affecting its smartphone banking application.<\/p>\n

It follows recent glitches to the bank’s services including ATMs, debit and credit card purchases, internet banking and app services.<\/p>\n

Earlier in August, Standard Bank updated its banking app for smartphones, having originally launched its mobile app in June 2012.<\/p>\n

The new app initially experienced technical issues with users unable to login, before the glitch was addressed.<\/p>\n
