GWM has officially launched its new flagship 4×4 bakkie, the P Series LTD, in South Africa \u2013 starting at R694,950.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe LTD is a natural progression for GWM given the growing demand from business users and private buyers alike for double cab bakkies,\u201d said the COO of GWM South Africa, Conrad Groenewald.<\/p>\n

The price attached to the new addition to the P Series lineup is R54,000 more than the current P Series double cab LT 4×4 range-topper, however, it brings some noticeable features and GWM’s new four-wheel drive system.<\/p>\n

Features<\/strong><\/p>\n

Slotting in above the LS and LT models in the P Series double cab range, the LTD is set apart by 18-inch Gloss Black Sports Alloy rims with all-terrain tyres.<\/p>\n

Body colour-coded door handles and mirrors are also LTD specific, along with a Black Sports Bar, plastic bed-liner, off-road steel front and rear bumpers and more assertive off-road wheel arches.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the LTD also includes a black roof rail, a specifically developed snorkel, a front winch that can pull up to 4,2 tonnes, and 12-Volt accessory connector in the engine bay and a 120Watt 220V located next to the rear USB port.<\/p>\n

Standard on the P Series range, including the LTD, are Hill Descent Control, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, as well as dual front airbags with side, curtain and front central airbags, and ISOFIX mountings.<\/p>\n

In terms of in-car entertainment and connectivity, the LTD features a 7-inch LCD virtual instrument cluster and a 9-inch multi-media touchscreen offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth capability as well as wireless phone charging, 2 USB ports in the front and 1 for the passengers.<\/p>\n

Performance<\/strong><\/p>\n

The flagship GWM P-Series LTD utilises the same 2,0-litre turbodiesel engine fitted to its siblings, offering a useful 120 kW of power and maximum torque of 400 Nm, coupled with a slick-shifting ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.<\/p>\n

Active and passive safety is well taken care of via an Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake Distribution, Traction Control, Rollover Mitigation, and the Brake Assist System.<\/p>\n

However, what differentiates the top-of-the-range LTD from the other models in the P-Series range, is GWM\u2019s newly developed four-wheel drive system.<\/p>\n

While other variants are equipped with a torque-on-demand (TOD) four-wheel drive system, the fully selectable system for the LTD embraces a variety of driving modes, including 2H, 4H, Snow, Mud, Sand and 4L, said GWM.<\/p>\n

The offroad systems also include the Cross-Country Expert Mode and Drive Mode Memory, linking to both front and rear differential locks, it added.<\/p>\n

Each purchase comes with a standard 5-year\/100 000 km warranty and service plan and 5-year unlimited mileage roadside assistance.<\/p>\n
