58-hour water outage hitting parts of Joburg next week &#8211; all areas affected"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Rand Water says there will be a 58-hour planned shutdown in Johannesburg next week, affecting over 100 areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rand Water said that the shutdown will allow it to tie the A19 and B14 lines with a new pipeline and install isolation valves and apply system upgrades at the Eikenhof pump station. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shutdown will start at 07h00 on Tuesday, 20 June and end at 15h00 on Thursday, 22 June. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It said that the following reservoirs will be affected:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Waterval 1&amp; 2<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Weltevreden<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Roodepoort<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meredale 1&amp;2<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the shutdown, Johannesburg water infrastructure supplied by the pump will be affected by no supply. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Areas receiving water directly from rand water will also be affected by the shutdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, Rand Water said that it would take<strong> roughly five days or more for the normal water supply to be restored. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, hospitals, clinics, schools, police stations, shopping centres and municipal offices will receive alternative water supply. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following 138 areas across the City of Johannesburg will be affected by the outage: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>46 areas in Roodepoort\/Randburg:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul
